The average plastic bottle takes 450 years, and some bottles can take up to 1000 yeas, to breakdown into micro particles that will ultimately end up in our food and bodies.

• 300 million tons of plastic waste is produced each year worldwide.

• 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic waste is estimated to be in oceans.

• 269,000 tons can be found floating, and 4 billion are microfibers per km² can be found below the surface.
